Shudokan Aikido is a practical and dynamic derivative of the Yoshinkan school founded by Gozo Shioda. Of all the martial arts to choose from in Japan, the Tokyo Special Riot Police train their forces in Yoshinkan Aikido. This Nottingham-based full time dojo is run by 6th Dan Sensei Ken Robson, with lessons twice a day, most days of the week. Even though we at The Shudokan respect the traditional, we appreciate that we live in the 21st Century, and our self defence strategies reflect this. Not only do we study traditional Japanese weapons such as Jo (Short staff) and sword, we also deal with modern weapons such as knife, baseball bat and even firearms.
